For large furniture, disassembly and reassembly can be handled by our team, or you’re welcome to take care of it yourself to save time. We’re also here to assist with planning and offer helpful suggestions to ensure a seamless moving experience.

  • Our local move pricing starts at $150 per hour for 2 crew members and 1 truck. Rates depend on the size of your move and the number of crew members required. Long-distance moves within North Carolina are priced differently, and there is also a travel fee added to every move.   • While Box Turtle Moving Co. doesn’t provide storage directly, we proudly partner with American Self Storage.   • Yes, we are unable to transport hazardous materials, pets, and plants (real or artificial). For a full list of restricted items, please contact us directly before your move.

  • We recommend scheduling your move at least 3 weeks in advance during peak moving seasons (summer, holidays). However, we do accommodate last-minute moves when possible, so feel free to contact us for availability.

  • If your local move exceeds the estimated time, you will be charged for the additional hours at the agreed hourly rate. We do our best to provide accurate estimates, but variables such as traffic or the amount of inventory may cause minor delays.

  • Yes, we provide free basic value insurance at $0.60 per pound for every move. We also offer upgraded coverage, which we would be happy to discuss the pricing with you. If you have any special concerns, let us know, and we’ll help you select the right level of protection.

  • Box Turtle Moving Co. services Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Cary, Wake Forest, Morrisville, and surrounding areas. We also offer long-distance moves within North Carolina. Long-distance pricing differs from local moves, and we can provide you with a free estimate upon inquiry.

  • Yes, we offer a 48-hour cancellation policy. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please notify us at least 48 hours in advance to avoid cancellation fees. Please note that cancellations must occur during business hours (9 AM - 8 PM Weekdays or 9 AM - 6 PM Weekends). Cancellations made after business hours will not be honored unless, upon opening on the next business day, there are still more than 48 hours before your move begins. 

  • While we don’t charge extra for standard heavy items like furniture, oversized or unusually difficult-to-move items, such as large gun safes, full-size arcade games, and pianos will incur an additional fee. We'll discuss any special circumstances when you schedule your move.

  • A deposit is required to be paid by credit/debit card at the time of booking. The remaining move balance can be paid via credit/debit card or cash on the day of the move.

  • If you need to move quickly, we will do our best to accommodate your schedule. We recommend giving us as much notice as possible to ensure availability, especially during busy times, but we will work with you to get your move done.

  • Yes, we offer free, no-obligation estimates for all moves. We can provide an estimate based on the size and scope of your move, and our team will discuss the details to ensure you’re comfortable with the plan before we start.
